Edwin Ng’uni founded the Simoonga Thandizani Trust School in 2010 with 5 children, realizing that many of them were wandering the streets, as their parents could not afford to give them access to education.

In 2017 the school was visited by Tammy Farley, a tourist who was impressed by the good work Edwin was doing in the village and has started funding the school regularly ever since.

Today the school has permanent classrooms from pre-primary to the 7th grade, with more than 400 children and 25 employees, including teachers and support staff.
